Hi. Guess a few of my fellow zoners have heard that Sue Lawley, presenter of Desert Island Disks is quitting the show after 18 years. Now, she's interviewed loads and loads of celebrities, film stars, singers Etc Etc while she's been on air every Sunday morning from 11.15 AM to 12.00 PM on BBC Radio 4 FM/MW. Now, she always plays three favourite records chosen by each person interviewed on Desert Island Disks and they have to imagine they're marooned on a desert island and they can take six favourite songs or pieces of music with them and obviously play them on this desert island.

This is really, a chance for my fellow Zoners to think what're their top six favourite songs and post them on here.

I'll start us off now.
1. Hedwig's theme from Harry Potter, composed by John Williams.

2. Corinne Bailey Rae and put your records on.

3. Craig David and Seven days.

4. K D Lang and Summer Fling.

5. Aled Jones and You Raise Me up. (not the crappy Westlife version though. I was devastated when they ruined Aled's version last year, curse them).
6. and finally, Imbugalea Gwyneth Gwyn. This is of course, a welsh folk song, also recorded by Aled Jones. Me and Blairwitch saw him performing not once, but twice last year at the Wisley Music Festival last June and again as my 22nd Birthday treat, on his New Horizons, tour at The Anvil in Basingstoke, Hants. These records just remind me of all the good times I've ever had with Blairwitch or Kay, who's been my best friend through a lot of hard times for both of us and we've always been there for each other. That's why I'd take those records with me.

My six pieces of music I would bring would be 1, metropolis part 1 by dream theater, 2, for the love of god by steve vai, 3, watermelon in easter hay by frank zappa, 4, one by metallica, 5, Moonlite sinata by Beethoven, and, 6, limelight by rush. As a side note, my favourite episode of desert island discs was the one where she had Brian May from Queen on.

Well, I've got a tape with the Desert Island Disks on the 5th of November 2000 the day after my 17th birthday, where Sue Lawley interviewed my favourite author of all time, J.K. Rowling.

O no. She's not the sort of person who lies. It's all in her biography, well, stuff I've read online anyway.

She wrote the outline for HP in a cafe in Leith Edinburgh, and on becoming famous she denied ever having been in Scotland. She claims to have written the outline on a train to england! JK Rowling is a compulsive liar, the only positive thing she has done is encourage children to read.
